Flowery Fabulous

If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring? No, not pilgrims, that’s an old joke. They bring the next tournament in the Fabulous series: the Flowery Fabulous! Join us at Arcade Galactic at the Valley Fair Mall on Saturday, May 16 at 1 pm for some pinball fun. Best game qualifying will run for approximately three hours, followed by a match play final. Entry fee is $5, plus reduced coin drop (maximum 50 cents per machine). Unlike most tournament formats, latecomers are allowed. No registrations will be accepted after 2:30 pm.

All ages and skill levels welcome! This format is particularly friendly for beginners, as you will not be playing directly against other players unless you make the finals.

The Score is Right: A Thank You to Quarters Sugar House

As many of you already know, Quarters Sugar House will be shutting down at the end of May. As a thank you to Michael, Katy, and the rest of the Quarters Sugar House team, there will be one more tournament. And what better way to send off Quarters Sugar House than with one of the most popular formats: The Score is Right!

We are proud to announce the next tournament in the Fish Bowl series, The Score is Right: A Thank You to Quarters Sugarhouse! If you don’t know what the Score is Right is, basically think Price is Right rules, but for pinball. Each game will have a score target, and your goal is to get as close to the target as you can without going over!

The tournament will take place at Quarters in Sugar House, on May 20th, starting at 7PM, with a $5 entry fee.

King Kong Launch Party

Day: May 23rd
Time: 2 pm

Location: The L.A.B. – 2432 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT

This tournament will have a $10 buy in and then discounted coin drop. We open our doors at 1 pm and the tournament starts at 2 pm. We will be playing a 10 strike progressive strikes knockout tournament with no separate finals. Basically, you’ll be in 3 or 4 player groups and every person that beats you, you take 1 strike so 1st place is no strikes, 2nd place is 1 strike, 3rd place is 2 strikes and 4th place on a game is 3 strikes. Last person standing without 10 strikes is the winner.

We will also have a bounties side tournament for cash. Get the highest score on any of our Insider Connected Games at the L.A.B. and win $10 so you have something to play for if you’ve had a bad run and got knocked out early. We will also have smaller bounties for Kong Mode champions and high scores ($5) so plenty of cash on the table to win some money to help cover your bar tab.

Arcade Galactic Monthly

It’s time for Arcade Galactic Monthly! In this May edition, we’ll be doing Target Matchplay Qualifying. The target to reach and finals cutoff will be determined by the number of players in attendance. After qualifying is finished, the finalists will compete in a ladder style finals format. 24 Hour Pinball Madness at The L.A.B.

Day: May 30th – May 31st
Time: 1 pm

This is our second iteration of our 24 hour pinball tournament at the L.A.B. Players will compete in a series of tournaments over 24 hrs. There will be a separate format for each tournament in the series that all contribute to your series standings. Series will score on a 95% modified decay per event 100,95,90,85,81… and all wpprs will be earned from the overall series not individually in each tournament. But Prize money will be paid out, per event with the top 4 in each tournament at a minimum getting cash for their performance.

Entry into the Madness will cost $100. Players can also purchase a 24 hr pinball pass that will get free play on all machines in the tournament for $20 or you can pay discounted coin drop for the event. Entry will also get you two meals (early AM and late morning) first night’s dinner is on your own. And a special t-shirt for paid registrants or L.A.B. t-shirt for late registrants.

Ongoing Tournament Series

Kiitos Spring Sling Series

Day: Every Tuesday

Kiitos Brewing Seasonal Series continues with our Spring Sling! Each tourney will be a 2 hour Flipper Frenzy with the top 8 qualifiers playing a ladder style playoff for finals. Events begin every Tuesday at 7pm with a $5 entry fee, all proceeds (-$1 IFPA fee) paid to the top 4 finishers weekly. Coin drop is required but all games will be discounted to a max $.50 each. You must be 21+ and ID is required to enter, we hope to see you there!

Quarters Silver Ball Sinners Club (SBSC)

Day: First and third Wednesdays of each month

Quarters hosts the SBSC on the first and third Wednesday of every month. The first Wednesday of the month is hosted at Quarters Downtown, and the third Wednesday of the month is hosted at Quarters Sugar House. The tournament and finals format vary each SBSC to keep things fresh. Buy in is $5. Pinball is better with friends, so come join us!

Sunday Night Fights at the L.A.B.

Day: Every Sunday

This is a weekly Sunday Night Flipper Frenzy Pinball Tournament. Tournament starts at 6pm and ends at 8 pm every Sunday. Finals will be either Amazing Race, Group Matchplay, or a combination of the two if the field is large enough with an Amazing Race semi finals followed by a group Matchplay final.

Entry is $5 and the L.A.B. pays the sanctioning fee for all participants. If it’s your first time, the L.A.B. pays your entry fee, or if you have played pinball before, but your friend hasn’t and you bring them, you both get in free.

Games are on “happy hour” pricing throughout the tournament.

Talisman Brewing Pinball Party

Day: Second and fourth Wednesdays of each month
Time: Start time 6 pm
Type: Open – Must be 21+

Location: Talisman Brewing Company – 1258 Gibson Avenue, Ogden, UT

This is our bi-monthly open pinball tournament at Talisman Brewing. Tournament starts at 6 pm and goes until close – 8ish.

Buy in is $5 plus discounted coin drop. The format will change based on attendees, but will primarily be group strikes or progressive strikes to end closer to 8 pm. We will also do group matchplay / max matchplay / round robin and flipper frenzy. Top 4 finishers will get paid out. Finals will typically be top 4, but no more than half of the field and time dependent.

We will conduct the tournament on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. If interested in joining, but running late, let Nate know. If the format allows late entry, no issues, if not, you can take a strike and still participate. We will try to accommodate latecomers while being mindful that this is a public location that closes at 8 (but they’re super awesome and we routinely stay a smidge past 8 to account for finals and such).
